Overtime you may notice that your computer's performance seems to get slower and has more issues.  When Windows computers are not restarted, they experience "memory leaks".  Windows loses access to small amounts of memory every time you open and close an application (Outlook, Word, etc).

To resolve this issue, and 98% of others you simply need to restart Windows.  If you are using an HP thin client & VDI session (not a full computer) it is important that you restart the Windows VDI and not the thin client (as this will not have any effect).

We suggest restarting your computer at least once a week.  However, you should simply restart and the end of each day for best results.

Restarting Your Windows Desktop

  1. Click the [Start] button
  2. Click the [Power] button
  3. Click the [Restart] button

If you are a PC user your system will restart and you can login again once you see the logon screen.

If you are a HP thin client / VDI user, your VDI session will disconnect and you will be able to reconnect in approx. 5 minutes.
