Please see the steps below to properly logoff your VDI desktop. This demonstration was completed from the perspective of a user working from home.
- Click the red “Logoff” icon on your desktop. You will see your locked desktop screen.
- Close your browser session (if working from home).
Desktop Icons and their Purpose
Logoff
The "Logoff" icon should be used at the end of the work day, at lunch or any other time you will be away from your computer. This icon only locks your workstation, leaving applications running.
VDI Restart
The "VDI Restart" is used to restart your VDI desktop. This should only be used when directed by the IT department. Once a restart is started you will not be able to login for 15 minutes while the system is restarting.
Removed Functions
The shutdown and restart options have been removed from your VDI desktop. Please only use the links above to logoff or restart.
