Overview


This article will walk you through the steps of changing your network password for the Kern Regional Center network domain.  As of the writing of this article the following applications utilize Single Sign-On (SSO).  Your new password will be used on the following systems.

  • Local Computer Login (laptop or desktop)
  • Azure Virtual Desktop
  • VMware VDI Desktop
  • Mitel (app login)
  • Freshservice Helpdesk
  • Microsoft Teams
  • Microsoft Edge
  • Microsoft Outlook
  • Sharepoint
  • OneDrive

Before You Start


Before you can change your password you will need to be fully logged into your Azure Virtual Desktop.  This means you have logged into your local device (laptop or desktop) and then connected to your Azure Virtual Desktop using the Remote Desktop app.



Instructions


Changing Your Password

  1. Press [Ctrl] + [Alt] + [End] on your keyboard at the same time.
  2. Select "Change a password".
  3. Enter your current  or "Old password".
  4. Enter your new password.
  5. Re-Enter your new password to confirm.
  6. Click on the "➔" (arrow) to save your change.*
  7. When prompted enter your DUO MFA passcode.


* Please note that your new password must meet the company password complexity requirements.  The requirements are as follows:

  • Must be at least 12 characters in length
  • Must contain 3 of the following 4 types:
    • Uppercase letters
    • Lowercase letters
    • Numbers
    • Punctuation
  • Must not contain your name or username


Outcome


Once your have completed the steps above you will have successfully changed your network password.  As there are multiple systems that utilize this account, it is possible that some systems may take up to 30 minutes to fully synchronize the new password.  If your new password does not work, please try using your old password temporarily.
